Nirupama and Umayanga's wedding was a striking embodiment of modern elegance. Set against the picturesque backdrop of an outdoor venue, fairy lights and soft candlelight brightened the space in a romantic glow, setting the stage for an unforgettable celebration.
As the bride made her entrance, she was greeted by a tranquil pond adorned with pots of blooming lotus flowers, perfectly setting the serene tone for the evening. Delicate white flower chains dangled elegantly from the entrance, guiding her path all the way to the trees that encircled the event space.
Throughout the venue, meticulously crafted foliage arrangements added a touch of natural beauty and sophistication. White roses, anemones, and delicate white anthuriums with subtle hints of green were tastefully integrated into the décor.

The tables were adorned with minimalist yet refined decorations, boasting crisp ivory linens adorned with accents of black and green. Each detail exuded contemporary charm while paying homage to tradition, with the addition of white anthuriums providing a modern twist to the overall design.

Amidst this backdrop of understated elegance, Nirupama and Umayanga celebrated their big day surrounded by loved ones. The simplicity of the decor allowed their love to shine, creating a heartfelt ceremony that marked the beginning of their journey together.
As the evening unfolded, guests danced beneath the twinkling stars, celebrating the union of two souls deeply in love. Nirupama and Umayanga's wedding seamlessly blended contemporary style with timeless romance, creating memories that would last a lifetime.

The soft glow of candlelight enveloped the Hilton Grand Ballroom, setting the stage for Rushanka and Adnan's special day. With delicate accents of blue and gold, the atmosphere reflected the couple's simple yet refined taste. Their elegant yet sophisticated style shone through every detail.
Amidst the warm flicker of candles, a sense of intimacy filled the air, creating a perfect setting for their union. The décor, tastefully adorned with touches of blue and gold, added an understated sophistication to the occasion, complementing the heartfelt moments shared by the couple.
From the exquisite floral arrangements, featuring blue and white delphiniums and posies, to the shimmering table settings, every element was carefully curated for Rushanka and Adnan.
KATIE & YOVAAN

Katie and Yovaan’s wedding was close to our hearts as we planned a wedding of our friends union. Like many of our clients, the Weddings by Sonali team was given full confidence to make the couple’s day magical.
​
As always, our team put on their pretty little thinking caps and went on to the drawing board to create something that we couldn’t stop gazing at. The opening act being the most delicately detailed invitation.
​
If the invite said anything about the special day, we knew it was only the beginning of this beautiful sun-kissed wedding. We picked roses in the softest shades of sunset, with delicate yarrow and the ever so popular succulents to accentuate centerpieces that sat prettily amongst all the little details under an elegant white marquee on the softest sand of the Mount Lavinia beach.
Throwing in a little bit of quirk and fun into any elegant soiree will only make it an even better party, so our team added a little extra touch of fun with boards of fun sayings, miniature bottles of the couple’s favorite alcohol, and a table of colourfull candy treats that was enjoyed by all!

The magical statement piece of the night was the suspended ring of florals with brass chandeliers that hung above the dance floor that added life to the party that followed.
ENAKSHI & NABIJAN

We have always found that a trusting client who believes in our creative capacity is the key ingredient to making a couple’s special day absolutely magical! Enakshi and Nabijan’s wedding gave us a whole lot of creative freedom, allowing the couple to watch the magic unfold.
​
Celebrations began as the couple stood on an elegant Poruwa with the setting sun and the ocean as their backdrop. Light wooden cross back chairs adorned with pastel florals lined the aisle as family and friends witnessed the beautiful union.
​
It was a night of all things pretty; delicate floral arrangements and vintage rose glassware added to the setting with gracefully laid nude pink table linen. The fairy-tale continues at the reception, with an abundance of flickering candles that created the perfect ambient lighting, bringing the most out of the delicate pink florals.
​
A juxtaposition was created above the dance floor, with suspended floral vines and delicate candlelit terrariums that hung above while the guests danced the night away!
ARUNI & SALIYA

Rose gold and nude pinks never seems to go out of style as a wedding colour pallet, and it is always a welcoming challenge ensuring each special wedding have its own unique style, and we truly enjoy it.
The bright and bubbly couple Aruni and Saliya gave us a task of keeping things contemporary and chic with the classic colour tones. The invitation being the first glimpse of what to expect we jumped into our first hurdle as we tried our hands with layering-coloured boards and using a square rose gold clip to put it all together, and the result: we absolutely loved the end product!
In keeping with the contemporary and chic look, we placed the most fluid and cascading florals on each table giving the room light and an airy floral feel. The magical deco looked dreamy with nude pink table cloths and napkins along with rose gold charger plates and napkin rings.
Key elements that stood out included an acrylic seating plan surrounded by the prettiest pink and white posies. We believe every wedding should compliment the couple and their personalities; therefore, we recreated a fun photobooth inspired by their save the date invite which shed light with a touch of local flavour. The fun life size tuk tuk photobooth stood quite proudly at the entrance and had almost every single guest queuing up for a fun and quirky capture. Fun elements didn’t just end there, there was a little bit of everything for everyone, and kids were no exception, as kids and adults both got to enjoyed pretty giveaways given with love!
TEHANI & CHULLAKA

Tehani and Chullaka’s wedding gave Sonali an added undertaking. Fondly knowing Tehani from childhood, Sonali knew all too well what would complete this event, starting from attire. Tehani, was ever so welcoming of the design suggestions and input put forward by her and with the help of some very talented designers, a unique true to form ensemble made the bride look of ever so elegant as she celebrated her wedding.

Tehani and Chullaka, like many of our clients challenged us to do something different with the ongoing trend at the time. We were faced to create a rustic yet delicate and elegant alternative to the more masculine tropical theme.
​
Our team created a green oasis in a rustic barnyard. Tall arrangements with cypress branches complimented the delicate poises of roses, along with longer flatter arrangements with both dried and fresh wild leaves. The trailing floral overhangs along the center of the large Barn house set the perfect ambiance to this reception, creating a rustic yet elegant but perfectly complimenting contrast.

While we underestimated the beauty of leaves; with the right linen and accents to set if off we brought the barn house to life by keeping things simple yet elegant; the antique gold cutlery set off well against the bare tables adorned by the hemstitched linen napkins and fresh rosemary sprigs that completed the table setting.
​
Guests enjoyed the night with themed food stations, hearty grazing tables, fun cocktails and live music had everyone on their fee and dancing the night away, just as any Barn house celebration should be!

This couple’s wedding was one that exuded coastal and romantic charm as their promise to love each other for life was framed by a delicate floral canopy placed on a wooden deck going into the gently ebbing ocean. Such a serene image that paid ode to the unpredictable, yet fantastic journey of life and love.
​
A reception of blush pinks, gold and white created an elegant scene that appropriately accompanied the brides artfully embroidered white gown, setting the tone for an event of timeless class. The white and pink floral arrangements paired with the dancing candle lit settings embellished the Weligama Marriott ballroom, subtly adding to the romantic atmosphere of the event, its beauty only outdone by the radiant couple itself.

When one thinks of a fairytale wedding they think fairy lights and nature - the physical manifestation of such a fantasy is what guests of the happy couple witnessed on this momentous night as Avishka and Pasindu, surrounded by all those they love, celebrated their union at Jetwing Lagoon in Negambo. The gentle floral arrangements mindfully placed throughout the reception area, furnishing the tables with their beauty gave the evening an atmosphere of whimsicality and magic. The centerpiece which was a magnificent tree adorned with an abundance of fairy lights that danced in the night like fireflies only emphasized the magic of the night whilst gracefully complimenting the joyful radiance of the couple. A day time ceremony embroidered with white and pale pink floral arrangements and furnishings, punctuated by the colorful presence of the guests acted as the canvas for this couples love story that is sure to last a lifetime
KAUSHI & KARTHI

Kaushi's and Karthi’s wedding was a timeless, vintage classic. Kaushi set the tone for this elegant, old-world celebration the moment she stepped out of her sparkling white show-line limo, adorned in lace and pearls, gliding to the soaring acoustics that filled the Church air. Following refreshments and canapés, the celebration moved to the elegant, candle-lit ballroom of the Cinnamon Grand, where silver vintage tureens filled with roses and baby’s breath flirted with the old-swing time classics that enlivened the evening. A single red rose at each table setting captured the refined sophistication of a soiree filled with personality, class and character – the perfect celebration of a union between two vintage souls.
